Sprockets for Conveyor Chains

CSTRANS supplies conveyor chain sprockets for flat-top, flexible, case and top-plate chain families. The range includes machined and injection-moulded constructions, with separate drive and idler references where available. Family-specific tables connect the exact wheel model to tooth count, bore and diameter. This keeps the chain engagement and shaft arrangement together when replacing a component or building a conveyor end.

Chain family

Chain-Specific Tooth Engagement

Flexible-chain, flat-top and case-chain wheels have different engagement geometries. The range includes individual flexible-chain sprockets and tables for 76, 820, 821, 1050/1060, 880, 882TAB and CC600 families. Each reference retains its own dimensions. Matching that tooth geometry lets the wheel transmit shaft rotation into the intended chain path; a similar outside diameter does not establish a replacement.

Wheel duty

Separate Drive and Return Duties

Drive sprockets engage the chain to transmit rotation from the powered shaft. Idler wheels guide the chain around the unpowered end. The 820 and 821 information separates those duties, while the 63, 83 and 103 ranges include their own idler references. Keeping the parts distinct supports a return arrangement with the correct axle mounting and wheel clearance.

Assembly fit

Bore and Body Fit Within the Assembly

Machined and injection-moulded wheels have model-specific bore choices. One-piece and split constructions also affect how the component fits into an existing shaft assembly. The finished bore, keyway, hub position and retention detail connect the selected wheel to the drive. Pitch and outside diameters establish different aspects of the chain path and available end space.

Application / Line Context

At a packaging transfer, wheel diameter affects how the chain turns beneath the carrying surface and approaches the next section. In a case-chain conveyor, the wheel and shaft location determine the end envelope around the chain return. On a flexible-chain lane, axial wheel position must align with the track and wear strips as the chain enters and leaves engagement. These relationships connect the wheel reference to product handoff, support and return clearance.

Replacing a worn wheel or completing a new drive end? Send the chain and wheel references, quantity and a shaft drawing or photograph. CSTRANS can compare the model, wheel duty and mounting details for the required assembly.
