CSTRANS supplies plastic modular belts for straight runs and radius turns, with flat, open, flighted and ball-top surfaces for different product handling needs. Selected series pair with injection-molded sprockets and raised-rib transfer plates. That lets equipment teams align product support, drive engagement and the discharge handoff with the route through a new or replacement conveyor section.

Surfaces for Different Product Behavior

At 27.2 mm pitch, the 2720 family includes flat-top 2720A, flush-grid 2720B, raised-rib 2720C and flighted 2720D. The 50.8 mm-pitch 5082 family offers flat, grid, perforated and flighted versions, with sidewalls for low-angle inclines. Ball-top models include 5080 and 25410; their rolling contact reduces sliding friction in case conveying. Flat surfaces support a product base; grid openings allow drainage or airflow; flights and sidewalls help hold position on a rise.

Straight Runs and Radius Turns

CSTRANS offers nine straight-running pitch classes, from 12.7 to 57.15 mm, plus radius models such as S2542 at 25.4 mm, S3810 at 38.1 mm and S5001 at 50 mm. The 12.7 mm 1270–1275 family handles small items; its shorter module step gives them a finer support pattern near a transfer. A radius belt can keep products on one carrying surface through a turn, avoiding a separate belt-to-belt handoff there.

Belt, Sprocket and Transfer Interface

Beyond the 5082 surfaces, the separate 5083 series includes a raised-rib form. CSTRANS pairs raised-rib 2720, 5083, 5712 and 5713 belts with transfer plates and provides standard injection-molded sprockets for 1520, 2720, 5712 and 5713. Sprocket teeth engage the belt at the drive, while the rib-and-plate interface supports products at discharge. Bore, keyway, tooth count and drive or idler arrangement shape the fit, so belt motion and product handoff can work with the connected equipment.

Application / Line Context

Product support changes from section to section. A small package needs enough contact as it crosses a transfer gap; an open grid may drain liquid yet offer less bearing area to a narrow base. On a curve, the outer edge travels farther than the inner edge, so turn geometry, wear-strip support and guidance affect how the belt and products follow the route. Flights and sidewalls help maintain product position as an incline begins. At discharge, the raised-rib plate must meet the receiving equipment at a suitable height and gap; at the drive, belt-tooth engagement and shaft fit govern motion. These interfaces shape product orientation and flow through the line.
