Review Contact Lines and Openings Together
A higher open area changes how the product rests on the remaining ribs. Check the actual base geometry rather than relying on footprint alone.

An Open Carrying Pattern in the 4809 Family
5713 uses an open ribbed face to carry products while allowing flow below their bases. The ribs establish the contact lines; the spaces between them provide the through-belt path.
Its 34% open area differs from the 22% grid of 5712. That figure describes surface openness, not a process-rate improvement. Product support and the available path below the belt must be checked for the intended duty.

Check the Product at the End of the Ribs
Examine support as the product leaves the ribbed face. Where transfer fingers are used, match their position and clearance to the actual belt drawing.
Drain or Ventilate Beneath a Ribbed Contact Surface
The open spaces let liquid leave the carrying face and allow air to reach the region below a supported product. Flow also depends on the product coverage and support-track layout.
Small feet or flexible packs may contact fewer ribs than a rigid broad base. Assess loading misalignment and the discharge handoff as well as steady travel. A product suitable for a finer grid may require a new support check on this surface.

Specify Your 5713 Carrying Surface
Send belt width, assembled length and quantity with the product-base drawing. Include drainage or ventilation needs, pin preference and any existing transfer-finger details.
