Wheel Bends

CSTRANS supplies wheel-bend components for 63, 83 and 103 flexible-chain horizontal turns. The assembly combines a plastic wheel disk, cast bracket, half-beam and shaft. The plastic disk is common to all three series, while the 83 and 103 castings share a form and the 63 casting has a lower center. That distinction matters when a corner is replaced or connected to an existing beam route.
Wheel corner
Carry the chain around a wheel-assisted corner
A wheel bend changes the direction of a flexible chain within one conveying run. In CSTRANS's 63, 83 and 103 horizontal-bend assemblies, the wheel disk works with the cast support, half-beam and shaft to form the corner. The surrounding beam and wear strip must bring the chain into that assembly at the intended level, then carry it into the next straight. Keeping the track continuous also keeps products on one supported path rather than introducing an extra transfer at the turn.
Wheel interface
Separate the common disk from series-specific support
The plastic wheel disk is shared across the 63, 83 and 103 assemblies. The casting is a different question: 83 and 103 use a common casting, while the center of the 63 casting is lower. CSTRANS can use those distinctions to identify the part that needs replacement. A disk that looks correct does not by itself establish the installed bracket height or beam connection. This is especially important when a damaged corner is being repaired from a photo or an incomplete model reference.
Line layout
Set the corner around the line layout
The bend angle, centerline radius and straight lengths decide where the product enters and leaves the corner. CSTRANS treats those as bend-geometry inputs. The beam join and guide position then determine how the chain and product approach the next conveyor leg. In a tight layout, a wheel-assisted corner may occupy the available space differently from a plain bend; the actual assembly geometry and adjacent components must match the chosen route.

Application / Line Context
At an infeed to a right-angle turn, the product arrives on a straight chain while a side guide holds its lateral position. The wheel-bend assembly redirects the chain, and the half-beam carries its running path toward the exit. The product's outer edge follows a longer path than its inner edge, so guide clearance and product footprint affect orientation through the corner. At discharge, the straight beam must meet the wheel-bend exit at the right level; otherwise a product can be displaced before reaching the next section. When servicing a 63 corner, the lower casting center makes it unsafe to assume that an 83 or 103 casting will place the disk in the same position.
