The rounded cap presents a curved contact face to the product wall. Its UHMW-PE profile sits within a stainless steel carrier, which locates the cap along the conveyor.
A curved face contacts a different region of the product from a broad flat strip. Guide height therefore matters on tapered bottles, necked containers or packs with a projecting rim. Check where contact occurs before copying the position of an old rail with a different profile.

Establish a Continuous Lane Boundary
A round-cap rail can form a continuous side boundary where products travel with sliding contact. Position it against a stable part of the wall and leave the required lane clearance for the widest product.
