863 Plate Top Chain

863 mounts POM carrying plates on a 12A roller-chain base. Six widths provide a range of straight-running product-contact spans above the central chain.

Compare the Lower Chain as Well as the Plate

A familiar plate width does not identify the 12A drive and support section.

Choose the Plate Span Above a 12A Chain

The roller-chain base drives the 863 assembly while the POM plates extend across the carrying lane. Wider plates give a broader contact span without turning the underlying chain into a full-width support structure.

The track must support the chosen plate arrangement for the product base. Compare the lower assembly when replacing a similar-looking plate chain, since base-chain size affects drive engagement and carrying height.

Listed working load: 2,000 N for the carbon steel base or 2,700 N for the stainless steel base. Review the force for the installed duty rather than treating it as a product-weight capacity.

Establish Support Across the Plate Width

Check where the product base loads the plate relative to the central track. Compare the track section, plate attachment and drive wheel with the actual chain.

At the conveyor ends, leave space for the complete plate assembly to turn. Set the receiving height and gap to maintain support under the product's useful contact areas.

Straight Handling Across Different Product Widths

A line carrying more than one product size may need a wider plate span to support the largest base. The smallest product still needs checking against the plate joints and side-guide setting.

For trays or carriers, locate contact pads over supported parts of the lane. Review how those pads move onto the next conveyor so the broader plate width does not conceal an unsupported transfer.
