Allow the Fingers to Deflect and Release
Check finger contact with the product and clearance around the end wheels.
Multiple Contact Features Across the Plate
The G4 fingers stand above the plate and contact the product individually. Their engagement depends on the product contour and the gap set between facing chains.
The finger profile also determines the swept space around the return. A compact lower chain path can still require substantial clearance for the raised attachment as it turns around the end.

Natural rubber inserts sit on POM plates above a 12A roller-chain base. Specify carbon steel or stainless steel for the base chain to suit the required configuration.
Set Finger Contact Against the Product Wall
Compare contact height and deflection with the product's supported and unsupported sections. A hollow or thin-walled part needs review for local pressure.
Side Gripping Through an Elevation Change
Opposed finger chains can maintain side contact while a container passes between different support levels. The entry should develop contact before lower support is removed.
At the exit, the receiving conveyor must support the container before the fingers release it. Product trials should examine both holding and release, since finger material alone cannot establish a safe product weight.

Review an 1873-G4 Contact Setup
Send the width reference, product contour, chain length and quantity. Include the proposed gap and elevation transition for CSTRANS to review finger engagement and return clearance.
