83 Flexible Chain
The 83A plain flexible chain carries products on linked POM plates. Its interleaving plate edges let the carrying surface follow changes in direction while the joints run within the conveyor track.

Check Support Where the Links Turn
The product footprint must remain supported as the spacing between plate edges changes through a bend.

A Plain Surface for Direct Product Transport
The plain top supports the product across adjacent links without raised cleats or contact attachments. The interleaving outline lets neighboring plates change angle as the chain follows the route.
That geometry is useful for compact connections between stations, but the product still needs sufficient base support. A small foot or narrow rim can interact with a plate joint differently from a broad flat base. Review the smallest product through the bend and onto the receiving conveyor.

Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | Specification: 83A |
| Body | Specification: POM |
| Joint ball | Specification: PA6 |
| Pin | Specification: SUS201 |
| Colour | Specification: White |
| Reference mass | Specification: 1.20 kg/m / 0.806 lb/ft |
| Listed tensile load | Specification: <5,000 N |
| Listed conveyor length | Specification: ≤12 m |
| Listed speed | Specification: ≤50 m/min |
| Listed service temperature | Specification: −20 to 90 °C |
These values describe the supplied chain configuration and require duty review. Tensile load is a force in the chain, not a carried-weight rating. Review operation above 30 m/min and frequent start-stop cycles.
Compare the Chain Joint with the Track
Use a dimensioned sample to confirm plate width, joint geometry and drive engagement. The track must support the chain while allowing its intended articulation.
Connecting Handling Stations Around a Curve
A plain flexible chain can carry a guided product between assembly or packing operations when the route changes direction. Side guides establish the product lane while the articulated chain follows the track beneath it.
Where a downstream station stops the product, the plain carrying surface remains in sliding contact if the chain continues. Consider that contact and the expected waiting time when deciding between a plain surface and a roller or attachment variant.
