83M Rubber Top Flexible Chain
83M combines a POM link body with a TPU covering across the carrying plate. The broad attachment presents a padded contact face to the product instead of concentrating contact on a narrow strip.

Check the Product on the Covered Plate
The pad changes the contact surface and carrying height; both matter at the receiving conveyor.

Broad Contact Across Each Link
The 83M covering follows the plate outline and provides a broad TPU contact area above the POM body. A product with a wide base can contact more of that surface than it would on a narrow strip attachment.
The contact area is divided by the chain joints. Product position, pad condition and articulation affect how that area is used. Select the surface for the actual base material and conveying conditions rather than assuming a fixed grip from the rubber-top description.

Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | Specification: 83M |
| Body | Specification: POM |
| Covering | Specification: TPU |
| Pin | Specification: SUS201 |
| Colour | Specification: White |
| Reference mass | Specification: 1.25 kg/m / 0.840 lb/ft |
| Listed tensile load | Specification: <5,000 N |
| Listed conveyor length | Specification: ≤12 m |
| Listed speed | Specification: ≤50 m/min |
| Listed service temperature | Specification: −20 to 90 °C |
Operating values need review for the complete duty and attachment. The listed tensile figure does not establish traction or allowable product weight. Review speeds above 30 m/min and frequent starts or stops.
Allow for the Pad at Transfers
Compare the installed top height with the receiving section, including the covering. Check clearance where covered links turn around the end wheel and enter the return path.
Carrying Products on a Broader Friction Surface
The covered surface is a candidate where a plain plate permits unwanted product movement during travel. A broad contact area may suit a flat base, provided the product releases correctly at discharge.
On inclined travel, grip depends on the product, slope and surface condition. Where products queue, increased friction can also increase contact with a stopped item. Check both moving and waiting conditions when choosing the surface.

Discuss the 83M Covered Surface
Send the product-base material and dimensions, route slope, required chain length and quantity. Include any existing plain-chain reference so CSTRANS can review the change in contact and carrying height.
