63B Steel Top Chain

The 63B combines a SUS304 steel top covering with a POM flexible-chain body. The covering meets the product while the articulated plastic link runs on the support track beneath it.

Top Covering
SUS304 steel

Review the product-contact surface and underside joint separately. A steel covering does not change the need to match the chain to its track and drive.

Put a Steel Contact Face Above the Flexible Body

The 63B changes the contact material at the top of the chain while retaining an articulated POM body. The steel cover follows the individual link outline. Pins and pivots still provide the motion beneath the carrying face.

This construction is relevant when the conveyed part's contact with a plastic plate needs closer review. Check the part's edges and underside finish against the steel face. The covering alone does not establish impact resistance, temperature capacity or wear life.

Dimensions & Fit

Use the 63 mm carrying width and 25.4 mm pitch with the exact link drawing. Compare the underside against the beam and wear-strip support.

Check clearance above the carrying face at guides and transfers. Through the curve, inspect the changing gap between cover plates with the smallest product base. Keep the product-contact requirement separate from drive-tooth matching.

Carry Parts on a Metal Contact Surface

The steel-covered top is a candidate where a manufactured part would contact the chain directly and its edges need to be assessed against the carrying face. The flexible joints can route that part between assembly or inspection stations.

At loading points, the way a part is placed on the chain matters. Review edge contact and impact rather than assuming a steel cover accepts unrestricted loading. At discharge, the base must bridge the plate joints and receiving gap.
