W4 Conveyor Wear Strip
W4 is a flat rectangular wear-strip profile for a supported conveyor contact surface. The plain section makes the backing support and fixing arrangement central to installation.

Support the Strip Beneath the Contact Area
Check the backing surface and fixation method so the strip sits evenly at the required running height.
A Plain Contact Strip with Separate Retention
The W4 drawing shows a solid rectangular section. It provides a flat wear face without a built-in hooked or channel-shaped return. The conveyor support therefore needs to establish the strip's position and retention.
When replacing a worn strip, compare the original running height with an unworn area. Loss of thickness affects the supported level and can create a step where the renewed section meets an older strip.

Set Width, Thickness and Fixing Position Together
Measure an unworn sample and show the backing support. Identify the moving component's contact width and the required installed height. Keep any fixing heads clear of that contact path.
Flat Sliding Support on a Backing Rail
W4 can be considered where a conveyor requires a plain wear face on a separate supporting rail. The backing surface carries the strip, and the chosen fastenings locate it along the run.
Inspect for uneven backing or protruding fasteners during renewal. Those conditions can concentrate wear or interrupt travel despite a new strip's flat section.

Specify a W4 Flat Strip
Send the required cross-section, lengths and quantity with the backing-rail drawing. Mark fixing positions and the intended chain or belt contact area.
