2542B Plastic Modular Belt
The CSTRANS 2542B plastic modular belt has a flush-grid carrying face with 40% open area. Its connected modules support products while leaving passages beneath them for air or liquid.

Compare the Base With the Open Grid
Broad bottoms and narrow feet contact the grid differently. Check the smallest supporting area of the actual product.
Flow Through a 40% Open Carrying Face
The 2542B grid leaves space for liquid and air beneath a supported product. The remaining ribs carry the base. Check the contact footprint to establish how that support is distributed.
The open surface differs from a closed flat top even within the same belt family. Product feet, loose pieces and the support strips beneath the belt all affect the application. The selected POM or PP modules and pins also need review for the process temperature.

N is a positive integer; n is a nonnegative integer. Agree finished width after material shrinkage.
Leave a Clear Flow Path Beneath the Grid
Check support-strip positions against the module underside. Where drainage is required, the conveyor bed must let liquid pass beyond the grid.
Carry Products Through Drainage or Airflow
The 40% open face can be considered for a straight process section where liquid leaves the product area or air must reach beneath it. The product and support bed determine how much of that path remains exposed.
Small loose pieces can pass through the grid. A tray may retain those pieces while still allowing a flow path, but its bottom must suit the supporting ribs. Check loading and transfer with the actual tray.
