Compare the round seat with the guide section. Check the seat and support pin as separate fitting points.
Seat One Rail in a Curved Clamp Head
The Type A head has a curved seat for the rail it supports. The clamping fastener retains the rail in that seat, while the projecting pin connects the head to the conveyor bracket.
The rail needs to sit against the intended surfaces before the clamp is tightened. A different rail section may enter the opening but fail to seat fully. Compare the section shape as well as its size when replacing a 501 clamp.

Dimensions & Fit
Check the guide profile against the curved seat in the drawing. Measure the required pin projection from the back of the clamp to the supporting bracket.
Fix a Single Guide at Each Support Point
The 501 links one guide rail to a rod-supported bracket. Repeated clamps along a straight run need to hold the rail at the same contact height so the product does not meet a step or twist.
At a machine approach, the guide position sets the available lane clearance. Check the grip with the selected rail section before setting the final spacing between the two sides.
