S2542 Flush Grid Radius Modular Belt
CSTRANS supplies the S2542 radius modular belt with a POM flush-grid surface and 25.4 mm pitch. Its 55% open area lets air and liquid pass through the belt, while side-flexing modules carry products through a curved route.

An Open Surface for Curved Conveyors
The grid supports the product base while leaving a flow path for cooling air or drainage.
Open-Grid Support Through a Curved Route
The S2542 belt is assembled from connected plastic modules with a flush-grid carrying surface. Its 55% open area provides a path for air and liquid beneath the product. The product base rests on the grid ribs, so its footprint determines how much support it receives.
The module joints allow the belt to side-flex through a curve. Standard widths use 152.4 mm increments; nonstandard widths use 12.7 mm increments above a 152.4 mm base. These increments help match the carrying width to the conveyor lane. CSTRANS reviews the assembled width and length, curve geometry, pin material and mating drive components against the line drawing.

S2542 Technical Specifications
The specifications below describe the POM S2542 flush-grid configuration. Confirm the belt and pin combination with your order requirements.
| Parameter | Specification | Imperial Equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Model | S2542 | — |
| Surface | Flush Grid | — |
| Pitch | 25.4 mm | 1 in |
| Belt Material | POM, also known as acetal | — |
| Pin Materials | POM / PP / PA6 | — |
| Nominal Standard Width | W (mm) = 152.4 × N | W (in) = 6 × N |
| Nominal Nonstandard Width | W (mm) = 152.4 + 12.7 × n | W (in) = 6 + 0.5 × n |
| Open Area | 55% | — |
| Backflex Radius | 25 mm | 0.984 in |
| Belt Mass | 7 kg/m² | 1.434 lb/ft² |
| POM Temperature Range | −30 °C to 80 °C | −22 °F to 176 °F |
N and n are integers. Material shrinkage can make the assembled belt narrower than its nominal width. Confirm the finished width and sprocket positions for your conveyor.
Match the Belt to Your Curve and Drive
Start with the required carrying width and the installed curve. Check the connected hardware and product support before finalizing the belt configuration.
- Belt and Curve
- Provide belt width, turn angle, straight lengths and a dimensioned curve drawing. Identify whether the radius is measured to the inner belt edge or the centerline.
- Drive and Return
- Share the sprocket reference, tooth count and shaft details. Check the 25 mm backflex radius against the return-path geometry; a transfer nose needs a separate dimensional check.
- Support and Transfer
- Show wear-strip positions, side-guide clearance and the receiving conveyor's height and gap. Check that the product base remains supported across the grid and handoff.
- Operating Conditions
- Include product dimensions, load, speed, temperature and cleaning conditions. Specify the required pin material so the assembled belt can be checked for the application.
Keep Product Support Through the Turn
On a draining conveyor, liquid can pass through the carrying surface as products move toward the next station. For cooling duties, the openings let air reach the underside of a supported product. Small products and narrow bases need enough contact with the ribs to travel across the grid without catching.
Through the curve, belt support and side guides maintain the carrying path and product position. At the exit, the receiving height and transfer gap determine how support passes to the next section. Width, curve geometry and handoff position therefore need to be considered together when replacing a belt or adding a new turn.
