83E Flexible Chain with Elastic Columns
83E adds rows of TPU elastic columns to a flexible POM chain. The projecting columns create a compliant contact surface for products that need contact above the underlying chain plate.

Match Column Contact to the Product
Check where the columns touch the product and how far they deflect in the intended arrangement.

Contact Through Individual Flexible Columns
The 83E attachment presents many slender columns to the product. Each column can deflect at its point of contact, so the working contact depends on the product contour and how the chain is positioned against it. Column geometry matters as much as the material name.
The underlying POM links form the conveying chain. The TPU attachment changes the contact above those links without defining a complete gripping system. Where two chains face each other, their spacing, alignment and motion must be considered with the product's ability to withstand contact pressure.

| Joint ball material | Specification: PA6 |
| Pin material | Specification: SUS201 |
| Colour | Specification: White |
| Reference chain mass | Specification: 1.30 kg/m / 0.874 lb/ft |
| Listed tensile load | Specification: <5,000 N / <1,124 lbf |
| Listed conveyor length | Specification: ≤12 m / ≤39.37 ft |
| Listed speed | Specification: ≤50 m/min / ≤164.04 ft/min |
| Listed service temperature | Specification: −20 to 90 °C / −4 to 194 °F |
Review the assembled chain against the operating temperature, product contact and duty cycle. The listed tensile force does not establish gripping force or lifting capacity. Speeds above 30 m/min and frequent starts or stops need application review.
Review Deflection and the Swept Attachment Space
Use a dimensioned product section to establish the column contact zone. For opposed-chain arrangements, check the gap through the full product-size range and verify that the columns release the product at the intended point.
Compliant Contact in Guided Handling
A product with a changing contour may contact individual columns at different depths. That makes the attachment a candidate for handling arrangements that need a compliant contact face, subject to trials with the actual product surface and shape.
In an opposed-chain handling section, the guides establish chain position while the columns contact the sides of the product. Entry and exit geometry control how that contact develops and releases. Neither chain material nor attachment hardness alone establishes a permissible product weight.

Discuss an 83E Contact Arrangement
Send the product profile, intended chain orientation and contact gap, together with chain length and quantity. Include product mass and operating speed so CSTRANS can review the column arrangement for the proposed handling task.
