5082D Modular Belt Flight

5082D adds upright flights to an OPB modular belt. Each flight provides a contact face behind the product and separates the carrying run into pockets.

Component
Upright belt flight
Materials
POM / PP
Connecting Rod
8 mm / 0.315 in

Space Flights for Loading and Release

The product must fit between successive flights and leave the pocket at discharge. Check both motions before setting the layout.

Form Product Pockets Along the Run

A 5082D flight supports the product against movement along the belt face. Repeating flight rows establish pocket length; the carrying width and any edge offsets establish the space across the belt.

The flights travel around the complete belt circuit. Their height and spacing therefore affect return clearance as well as product containment. Review the path beneath the conveyor before choosing a taller flight.

Module and flight materialsSpecification: POM / PP
Pin materialsSpecification: POM / PP / PA6
Rod diameterSpecification: 8 mm / 0.315 in
Base open areaSpecification: 0%
Standard widthSpecification: W (mm) = 152.4 × N
Nonstandard widthSpecification: W (mm) = 152.4 × N + 16.9 × n

N and n are integer width increments. Specify flight height, spacing and edge offset with the required finished belt width.

Check the Flight's Swept Path

Mark the required flight height H and spacing on the line drawing. Leave sufficient clearance at the end turns and beneath cross-members along the return.

Check where the product settles after loading and where it releases at discharge. A fixed plate must clear the moving flight while supporting the product during the handoff.

Support Products on an Inclined Section

On an incline, flights provide a rear contact face for products that tend to move backward on the belt. Pocket dimensions must suit the product's orientation and the way it settles against the flight.

Feed timing also matters. Material should enter the space between flights rather than strike an approaching projection. Conveyor angle, product behavior and pocket loading need assessment together; the flight alone establishes no fixed incline rating.
