Use the Bearing Reference as the Starting Point
Check the complete marking and dimensions of the existing bearing. Housing appearance alone does not identify the bearing.
Match the Rotating Support Inside the Housing
The bearing supports rotation of the conveyor shaft within its mounting arrangement. Check the bearing-to-shaft fit and the bearing-to-housing fit. Both are needed to identify a suitable replacement.
The 440 material designation does not specify a complete bearing configuration. Retain the original bearing code and check the width, outer surface profile and shaft-retention method. Those details distinguish bearings that may have the same nominal bore.

Check the Shaft and Housing Fits
Provide the bearing marking, bore, outside dimensions and width. Show how it is retained on the shaft and in the housing. Include any space restriction from a shoulder, collar or neighbouring sprocket.
State the operating speed and loading when reviewing the bearing duty. Agree seal and lubrication requirements for the actual environment before finalizing the bearing configuration.
Renew the Bearing in a Conveyor Shaft Support
When replacing a bearing, inspect the shaft contact surface and housing seat for damage. Wear at either fit can prevent the new bearing from being located as intended.
The installed arrangement also determines shaft alignment and retention. Check these conditions during renewal so the selected bearing can operate within the intended support geometry.
