5083 Raised Rib Plastic Modular Belt

5083 carries products on closely spaced raised ribs above an open module body. This profile supports products along rib tops and can be reviewed with a finger-style transfer arrangement.

Match Transfer Fingers to the Rib Pattern

Finger position and clearance must follow the actual belt geometry. Check movement through the handoff before selecting the transfer arrangement.

Carry the Product on Rib Tops

The 5083 raised-rib face separates the carrying contact from the open spaces below. A product base rests across several ribs while liquid or air can pass through the module body.

The spaces between ribs are relevant at discharge. A corresponding transfer can extend support into that space, but the fingers need a geometry check against the moving belt. A family reference alone does not settle their fit.

Align the Handoff With the Ribs

Compare the product's contact points with the rib pattern. A narrow foot may sit between ribs, while a wide base can span them. Check the smallest contact area and any skewed loading position.

For a finger transfer, review the finger outline against the belt through articulation. Return supports must also clear the projecting face. The 51 mm backflex radius is separate from those local clearances.

Carry Products Into a Supported Discharge

A ribbed carrying surface is useful where product support must continue toward a finger-style receiving surface. Correct alignment lets the receiving support reach between ribs while leaving the belt free to move.

On a wet run, the spaces beneath the contact lines provide a drainage route. Small loose products and flexible bases need assessment because they can enter or deform into the rib gaps.
