5081A Flat Top Plastic Modular Belt

5081A has a closed carrying face with broad module panels. It provides continuous top contact between the hinge rows for products travelling on a straight conveyor.

Check the Base Where Rows Meet

Broad panels support the product during travel. The shortest base edge and its position over the hinge row matter at loading and discharge.

Broad Panels for Straight Conveying

5081A carries products across flat panels joined by transverse pins. Its closed face provides contact where a grid opening would leave part of the product base unsupported. The hinged assembly follows the drive and return while the panels form the carrying run.

POM and PP module options are paired with a choice of pin materials. Choose the combination for the process and check the actual underside against the installed drive. Similar top surfaces do not establish matching sprocket geometry.

Match the Underside Before Replacing a Belt

Compare the module side profile and sprocket engagement with the existing drive. Check how the belt enters and leaves its carrying supports rather than relying only on the flat-top appearance.

The return route needs room for the 75 mm backflex radius. At the infeed, avoid a height step that catches a product edge. At discharge, check that the smallest base spans the gap to the next conveyor.

Carry Flat-Based Products Between Machines

A closed top suits product bases that need support across the panel face. Trays or containers can cross successive hinge rows while their base remains in contact with the carrying surface.

If products queue against a stop, belt-to-product sliding becomes part of the duty. Assess the product base material and the length of the queue before choosing the module material. The closed top has no through-grid drainage path.
