Support the Base Across the Handoff
The closed top supports the product on the carrying run. Stability at discharge also depends on the gap and height difference between conveyors.

Broad Contact Beneath the Product
2720A has broad flat module faces joined across the belt width. The surface supports containers and other products whose bases benefit from a closed top. Hinged rows let the belt articulate around the drive and return path.
Nominal standard widths follow 152.4 mm increments. Intermediate assemblies use the additional 8.4 mm increment shown below. Material shrinkage affects finished width, so nominal width and available conveyor clearance need separate checks.

N and n are integer assembly increments. Confirm the finished width for the selected material before setting side clearance.
Allow the Rows to Articulate
Check the sprocket reference and tooth engagement against the 27.2 mm pitch module geometry. Keep the drive square to the carrying path so the belt enters the sprockets consistently across its width.
The return arrangement must accommodate the 50 mm backflex radius. At transfers, use the product's shortest base dimension to assess the unsupported gap. A closed face alone cannot prevent a tall product from tipping at a poor handoff.
Support Containers Between Stations
On a straight container-handling run, the flat top provides broad contact beneath the product. Narrow feet and base edges remain supported across the closed module faces. Guide placement should keep that base supported as products approach the next machine.
During a downstream stop, products may slide relative to a moving belt. Assess this contact with the actual container material and accumulation length. Material choice and operating conditions require review before assigning a permissible conveying load.

Request Your 2720A Belt Assembly
Provide belt width, assembled length and quantity, plus the existing sprocket reference or a drive photograph. Include container base dimensions and any accumulation duty for the surface and material review.
