83 Horizontal Plain Bend
The 83 horizontal plain bend guides an 83 mm flexible chain along a curved track on the 85 mm beam family. Radius and angle options let the route be specified around adjoining equipment.
- Chain / beam
- 83 / 85 mm
- Radius choices
- 500 / 700 / 1000 mm
- Angles
- 30° / 45° / 60° / 90°
Compare the bend-end section and support spacing with the existing 85 mm beam. Keep the radius reference consistent across the layout.
Carry the Chain Along a Supported Arc
The 83 plain bend follows a curved track rather than using a wheel at the inside of the turn. The paired profile members and their transverse connections hold the route between the adjoining straight runs.
The bend needs to maintain the chain support level at both ends. Choose its radius and angle from the required line plan, then check the exact beam connections. A matching nominal width alone does not settle the end geometry.

Dimensions & Fit
Show the tangent positions and the chosen arc in the conveyor plan. Compare the beam ends and the wear-strip path with the adjoining straight sections.
Lead the Lane Into the Next Straight Run
A curved route changes the orientation of a product before it reaches the next machine. The 83 bend's exit should point along the required infeed direction, with the guide path following the same transition.
Where products queue through the bend, review side contact and chain pull for the whole route. Radius alone does not establish an allowable accumulation load.
